TigerLogic XDMS Technical Overview

The TigerLogic XDMS XQuery extensions provide data aggregation through federated and XA-compliant transactional queries for extended data sources including XML, SOAP and REST-based Web Services, relational databases (JDBC), Message Services (JMS), Java Objects, local and network files and Web content (AJAX, REST, XML-RPC). The TigerLogic XDMS multiple-schema index engine supports storing XML data with multiple schemas. TigerLogic XDMS provides the flexibility to accommodate structure data changes in real-time, with support for unlimited depth of XML hierarchies.

TigerLogic XDMS can be used as a staging server for dynamic data sources, utilizing the TigerLogic XDMS self-defining database to build indexes and store data based on the structure of the incoming data. XQuery accesses data from legacy systems via a federated query or data cached in-memory with policies for automatic refresh. TigerLogic XDMS enables Web services on legacy systems by making legacy data available through a simple TigerLogic Web services API. Data consumers access the legacy data via Web Services, thus reducing the overhead of back-end integration.

TigerLogic XDMS runs on Microsoft Windows (2003, 2008, XP Professional, Vista and 7 with latest service packs) and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 and 5.
