Installing mvDesigner on Windows

Complete these instructions to install mvDesigner.

WARNING

(mvBase Administrators) See mvBase Prerequisites before proceeding with any other installation.

To install mvDesigner:

  1. Log on to Windows as Administrator (or a user with administrative privileges).

  2. Insert the product CD into the CD-ROM drive.

  3. Ensure that the JRE and FlashCONNECT are installed before installing mvDesigner.

Install programs in the order shown in the Installation Menu.

  1. Double-click SETUP.exe if the CD does not start automatically.

The Installation Menu dialog box displays.

  1. Click mvDesigner - Development Environment from the Installation Menu dialog box.

The Welcome dialog box displays.

  1. Click Next and then click OK to review the Licence agreement.

The Software License Agreement displays.

  1. Close the License agreement window after reviewing the agreement, and then click Yes to accept the terms of the agreement.

The Choose Destination Location dialog box displays.

  1. Click Next to accept the default Destination Directory for the installation or click Browse to select another location.

The Select Program Folder dialog box displays.

  1. Click Next to accept the default Program Folder for the installation. To specify a different Program folder, either type a new folder name in the Program Folder text box or select an existing folder from the Existing Folders list.

The Omnis Web Client dialog box displays.

  1. Do one of the following:

The Choose Destination Location dialog box displays.

  1. Select the path to install the Omnis Web Client software, then click Next. The installation begins.

When all of the files have been copied, the Finished dialog box displays.

  1. Select Yes, then click Close. (Do not remove the product CD-ROM from the drive unless you are finished installing mvDesigner on Windows.)

After restarting, the FlashCONNECT Socket Server Manager displays. For more information on accessing the FlashCONNECT Socket Server Manager, see Administering the FlashCONNECT Socket Server Manager in the FlashCONNECT Administrator’s Guide.

The installation program creates a TigerLogic program group in the Start > Programs menu.

WARNING

If you installed FlashCONNECT on a Windows system the FlashCONNECT Socket Server may not install correctly. If you receive an error message, you must run fcsocketserver -install from the WINNT\System32 directory to install the service.
