TigerLogic Product: D3 Database Management System
Using TigerLogic’s D3 Database Management System, Australian Developer Offers Application Flexibility to Create Market Leading Solutions for the Healthcare Industry
In 1988, Andrew Edgley launched the development of a laboratory information system specifically for the Australian market with the aim of enabling both public and private laboratories, clinics and hospitals to run more efficiently. Over 20 years later, LRS Health is a leading developer of laboratory (MediPATH), billing (MediBILL) and communication (AIITALK) software products that streamline the critical needs of both public and private healthcare organizations across Australia.
LRS Health offers a high degree of flexibility in their products catering to the unique requirements of each individual client:
MediPATH – a result, account and laboratory management suite for pathology labs – can be rapidly customized to individual needs. MediPATH allows pathologists to address ever-changing requirements of effective pathology practice management while still adhering to tight industry regulations.
MediBILL – an invoice and debt management suite – simplifies hospital billing by consolidating all charges relating to a visit into a single invoice. Tailored specifically for the Australian market, MediBILL automates claims and receipts to and from Medicare, The Department of Veterans Affairs, the Victorian Transport Accident Commission and other e-enabled healthcare funds.
Since the early days of development, LRS Heath has used D3 as the core database management system for their software products. Fast access to patient data, enabled by D3’s highly efficient indexing, is a critical part of what makes LRS Health’s application successful.
LRS Health requires a database management system that can securely handle complex data array, while providing the flexibility to allow for rapid customization. "D3 continues to provide LRS Health with a fast, scalable database that allows us to maintain application flexibility to meet the unique needs of our larger and growing clients," said John Edgley, Managing Director, LRS Health. "We’ve built a good long term relationship with TigerLogic and D3 as the central element in our software suite."
LRS Health’s e-health solutions are deployed in more than 30 sites throughout Australia, predominantly large health conglomerates including Alfred Health, Royal Women’s and Children’s Hospitals, and Southern Health in Victoria, and Royal Prince Alfred hospital and North Coast Area Health Service sites in NSW.
