Cool Example #8 SEC EDGAR
To help support stock market investors and analysts, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) requires that public companies file all disclosure documents with the Commission and these are then made available to the public. This wealth of information is located on the EDGAR database. You need to locate some information regarding a particular company. However, it's difficult to locate the information you need because of the vast number of documents available for the company. To further complicate your search, some of the documents listed are hundreds of pages long. Here is an example of how ChunkIt! can quickly help you track-down the information you need, without having to scan through every page of the document.
Go to
http://www.sec.gov/edgar/searchedgar/companysearch.html.
Enter BSC in the Ticker Symbol text box and click the Find Companies button to get all documents for Bear Stearns Companies.
Next, type 10-Q in the Form Type text box and click the Retrieve Selected Filings button.
When the results display, open the most recent quarterly report (or 10-Q).
Let's say you're looking for some information on lawsuits, whose details are not normally covered in the press.
Type lawsuits into the search box and click 
There you go. You get all eight paragraphs in the 90 page document that reference lawsuits.
Within these paragraphs, there is significant detail about the lawsuits.
In addition to searching the most recent quarterly report, you can also go back to
older ones in order to see how lawsuits have progressed over time.
You can search these older quarterly reports one at a time or as a group with a single search.
